Analysing two Key Concepts on a Text

In this image Captain America is being represented as the hope of the world. The background is dark and grey however the lighting is focused on his image. The colours on his clothes are bright which connote hope and also the idea that there is still life. He’s being represented as coming out of the darkness as the image underneath the poster is dark but creates the perception he’s rising out of the darkness. Also this patriotic image of the colours of the U.S flag portrays the idea that the U.S is still the mightiest country in the world. Moreover the image depicts the character like he’s showing respect to maybe his fallen comrades. Even though he’s been shown in a high angle view looking down at us it shows he’s brave and strong however we the audience at home do not feel inferior we feel respected as it looks like he’s giving his respect to us thus making us feel honoured.

When looking at the poster what you fail to notice first is the heading above. It significance of this is to invite you in but to create a mystery surrounding what you might see. What is surprising is that even though he’s the dark night we expect the lettering to be black however it is white. This depicts the view that even though his identity is hidden people know he is alive and saving the world. Also the lettering even though spacious it’s tightly comprised this illustrate the idea that its easy to be in the city however its hard to live. The main characters are all listed on the front of the image, this is useful as the audience will sometimes decide to go watch a film depending solely on the character in the film.

Celebrity Phone Hacking

Should Celebrities Recive Payout For Viocemail Tapping

The thought about celebrities being paid huge sums of money for their voicemail being tapped is outrageous. Celebrities are being paid tons of money just for appearing on the media. Many such as Naomi Campbell are well known for their snobbish behaviour and pampered attitude. The thought just sickens me to the core that celebrities are using it as a source of money making scheme in order to gain more money in their pocket.
There’s been a rise in celebrities claiming for their voicemail to be hacked. It’s has managed to become a trend in society where they are much happy to find out their voicemail have been hacked rather than the relief that it hasn’t.
It’s merely easy  to understand celebrities are the once that attract media attention. It’s not suprising to notice we are constanly bombared with shocking revealtion of celebrities such as Ryan Giggs cheating or being imoral in public. All these  factors contribute to the money they get from doing these as they become very popular in the public eyes.
Why should celebrities be giving payout? Why should their own selfish interest come before others? Celebrities unlike the general public open the media to their private lives therefore it shouldn’t be suprising when the media are basically living in their house. Payout to celebrities should not be plausible they are viewed as moral leaders to kids therefore they should not be paid when they are viewed doing imoral things as it is in the public interest to know what celebrities are doing thus allowing parent to choose the right celebrity role model for their kids.

Why Documentary Twittamentary Should Be Screened

It would be a great idea to screen the documentary twittamentary in our school because the documentary can be viewed from a moral point of view. It important to note twitter “frame your world view” we can see it as an advice for us amateurs venturing into the world of twitter. Also it would open our knowledge on the world around as and the possibilities we have in society. Such example is “Anne Marie” who used twitter to gain support in her welfare state. It would be a surprise to our students on the fact that social media can be used as a tool to achieve many things through the power of communication.

It’s notable to note the documentary is a clear representation and not an edited view on twitter. It’s a fair representation that combines the element of human desire relationship being involved and love into a documentary. It’s educational thus needed to be screened in Burlington Danes Academy- the film is innovative, the reason being it would be helpful for our student who wish to pursue a career in filming gain unconventional filming skill s illustrated by Tan Siok Siok.

Analysing print advert: The Pursuit of Happiness

The use of props such as what seems to be a suit case and business clothing infers the film will involve a business adaptation and portray it from a conventional business perceptive therefore we can draw our conclusion for it to be a drama genre.Whilst the film is portrayed by a well known actor our general thought for it is to be a great blockbuster. However the title itself is humbling as happiness is spelt wrongly “happynness”.

The setting of the film is unknown from looking at the poster. The background is covered in white. A white background which connotes the film will have a happy ending. Perhaps the reason the background is covered in white is to allow the audience to imagine their own happy ending. It could also suggest there isn’t a single place to find hope, you can find it in different places.

The film poster the pursuit of happiness is a 2007 drama based film. The first thing that is striking is the use of colours. The use of primary colour white denotes happiness and hope at the centre of the poster there’s a concentration of a gleaming light this represent the bond between the two characters and the fact they share the same happiness.  The use of red for happiness connotes love the fact there cannot be any true happiness without love.
The camera angle is viewed from a long range shot to give as a full overview of the characters.  It portrays the man Will Smith in a fatherly figure tall but leaning down a little, this connotes he’s a helping hand to his child, who is also leaning on his dad for support. The camera shot is very prominent and focused because in just this view we can denote the two characters are very humble and dependant on each other.

The film pose is important because from the positional of the characters we can connote the film will explore love and struggle however at end there will be a ray of hope.

The framing of the poster is influential to the audience firstly because of the positional of the tile of the character. It’s bold and allocated at the top of the poster, its catches the audience attention thus they feel since Will Smith is a well known movie star the film is going to be a good movie. Moreover the use of centring the title at the middle suggests it’s the main aim of the film and the storyline of the film.

To what extent it Children of Men a Cinematic Genuis

The opening scene of Children of Men is a cinematic genius t the extent the first scene of the film in itself is captivating. The narrator reads out atrocities happening, however we are not showed images but a dark background. The act breaks all forms of cinematic convention by allowing as the viewers to imagine the situation. It works on us psychologically not only in grabbing our attention but making as feel the scene is from a long lost memory.

The diversity of racial background makes it a cinematic genius. In just one scene there’s a mixture of race in it. It does a whole lot in one scene, in most films there’s just one group of race but in Children of Men in a few seconds he has managed to appeal to all kinds of race.

The film was an experiment with a success. The institute Universal studios are known for taking risk. Perhaps Children of Men makes it notable as Universal studies are in America but the film is shot in Britain.

The film genre is drama based. It’s realistic and keeps the audience at the centre of the film. It’s a cinematic genius to an extent as it manipulates all this factor t the fullest with both the camera action and it intense human emotions.

Reflection on Media Lesson

The first media lesson in 6 form was surprisingly nothing like the work done in GCSE. We had a whole look at the concept of media and viewed it from a different perception. Unlike GCSE were the work was mainly focused on the creative aspect, the work done in 6 form focused on the analytical aspect.
I found it hard at first, but as the lesson continued I got used to the media terminology and became more confortable as the lesson progrssed. While the lesson went one I became more and more fascinated about how as media student how we are meant to view media in a different way and to become more aware of why such media product are presented in a way.
But that wasn't to say the lesson was easy, I knew what media terms were however what I found a little bit hard was being able to deconstuct those terms.
